Congratulations to Division Chief of General Medicine & Geriatrics, Dr. Bradley Evanoff, on his journalistic publication.
Chief of the Division of General Medicine & Geriatrics, Dr. Bradley Evanoff, authored a paper in the Scandinavian Journal of Work Environment and Health titled, “What have we learned about risk assessment and interventions to prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders and support work participation?”.
With colleagues from Finland and the Netherlands, the paper reviewed 50 years of research on work-related musculoskeletal disorders (such as low back pain and carpal tunnel syndrome). Major themes included the development of improved case definitions of disease, creation of exposure criteria for work-related risk factors, and descriptions of the varying importance of different workplace physical and psychosocial factors. Also, the paper shared effective interventions for the prevention of these disorders.
