IM Residency-Primary Care Track Leadership

Dr. Peter McDonnell has agreed to serve as the interim program director for our Primary Care (PCIM) track.  Dr. McDonnell has been a fixture in our ambulatory clinic, where he currently serves as the Assistant Medical Director of the Primary Care Medicine Clinic.  A graduate of the PCIM track himself, Dr. McDonnell obtained his MD at the University of Michigan before coming to Washington University for his residency and chief residency.  Dr. McDonnell joined our faculty in July of 2020 and has quickly gained a reputation as a staunch advocate for primary care and resident education.

In addition, Dr. Natalie Baumann will be assisting Dr. McDonnell with the scheduling of the PCIM educational curriculum.  Dr. Baumann is an Associate Program Director for Internal Medicine and the director of our ambulatory didactics series.   She attended Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where she received her MD and was inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Society, followed by residency at Washington University and Chief Resident in Quality and Safety at the John Cochran VA.
