Amy McQueen, PhD, Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Medicine & Geriatrics, has been named the Director of Master of Science in Clinical Investigation at Washington University School of Medicine.

“I’ve had lots of interactions with MSCI over the years, so I’m excited to work with MSCI students, staff, instructors, mentors and leaders as the new Director,” Amy shares.

As Director, Amy will oversee the largest master’s degree program at WashU Medicine. The MSCI student body represents over 15 different departments and 45 divisions within WashU Medicine and combines didactic coursework with a substantive research project, weekly seminars, and a formal mentorship program.

MSCI is a one-to five-year program that prepares young professionals in clinical research, available in full- or part-time formats. Housed in the Clinical Research Training Center, WashU Medicine has awarded over 200 MSCI degrees since 2006.

“The models and budgets for educational programs have been shifting, so it will be important to identify additional ways to continue to enhance the value of the MSCI program,” Amy shares.

Amy also currently serves as the Director of Graduate Programs in Applied Health Behavior Research and as the Co-Director of the Health Communication Research Lab at the Brown School.
