Biography
Dr. Ciesielski’s leadership roles include Vice Chair of Inpatient Safety and Quality and Executive Editor of the Washington Manual series. Research interests include medication safety, opioid medication safety, patient safety, patient progression, inpatient operations. Dr. Ciesielski has published on identifiable risk factors for developing a diagnosis of opioid abuse. Dr. Ciesielski has presented ongoing improvement efforts in a primary care clinic for safer opioid prescribing.
Dr. Ciesielski’s clinical interests are in general internal medicine, primary care for adults, preventative care, and management of chronic medical conditions. He also attends on the inpatient general internal medicine teaching service. He is an associate program director in the internal medicine training program. Dr. Ciesielski is interested in safety and quality education and leadership development.
