Heather Olinger

Geriatric Clinical Nurse Coordinator

Heather Olinger is a dedicated healthcare professional with nearly two decades of experience working in the medical field. She began her career working in long-term care, where she worked more than six years as a Certified Nursing Assistant before transitioning to Student Nurse Technician on the oncology floor at a local hospital.

After earning her Associates Degree in Registered Nursing in 2021, Heather worked as a float nurse working throughout one of the local hospital systems in various specialties before finally shifting her focus on orthopedics. More recently in May of 2024, Heather went back to her roots and joined the Washington University team as a Geriatric Clinical Nurse Coordinator. In this role, she uses her extensive clinical experience and critical thinking skills to triage patient calls and messages via MyChart, evaluate symptoms, provided care recommendations, and aid in patient scheduling. She often consults with geriatric providers as needed, manages prescription refills, providing verbal therapy orders, and processing incoming faxes that might be anything from prescription refills to therapy orders that need to be routed to different providers.

With a strong foundation in the nursing field, Heather is passionate about providing compassionate, patient centered care to each of her geriatric patients.
