Biography

Kelly McDermott is a clinical-educator and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis.  Originally from Virginia Beach, she received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk VA.  She completed her internal medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital as a resident in the primary care track.  Her research interests include the fields of inclusion, diversity, equity, ally-ship and social justice through curricular development and community engagement.  She works as a primary care physician in the WashU Complete Care practice, focusing on preventative medicine, management of obesity and chronic disease, and social and structural determinants of health.
